delegate, deputy, representative, agent, substitute
這些名詞有代表、代理人之意。
delegate : 指一般被派參加某一會議的代表。
He is one of the delegates to the conference.(他是與會代表之一。)
deputy : 指上級授權代理行事的代表，特指被選擇為執行全部或部分公務的人。
John will act as a deputy for me during my absence.(我離開期間, 約翰將代理我的職務。)

representative : 一般指被選舉或委派代表某人或一些人或某個較大團體的人，其職務有時是較長期的。

這兩個形容詞都有表示深的之意。
deep : 普通用詞，指由上到下，或由表及里的深度，可指具體或抽象事物。

profound : 語氣較強，較為莊重，多指抽象的事物，多用于比喻。
