　　9. as if，as though ，as it were ，look like 它們都有 仿佛、好像 之意。as if，as though是連詞，前者更常見些。當(dāng)內(nèi)容屬實(shí)時(shí). 從句使用一般時(shí)態(tài); 當(dāng)內(nèi)容不是事實(shí)時(shí)，從句使用虛擬語氣：He spoke to me as ifl were a child. 他跟我說話的口氣好像我是個(gè)小孩子似的。It looks as if it is going to rain.天看上去要下雨了。

　　as it were 是虛擬表達(dá)，句法上用作插入語，表示 可以說是：He is my best friend ，my second self，as it were. 他是我最好的朋友，可以說是我第二個(gè)自我。

　　look like是動(dòng)詞短語，看起來好像：It looks like rain. 天看上去要下雨了。

　　36.at first，at the beginning 它們都是起初、開始的時(shí)候之意， 前者的時(shí)間概念模糊一些，后者的時(shí)間概念清晰一些。往往涉及前后情況有變：At first I didnt like him but now I do. 起初我不喜歡他，但現(xiàn)在喜歡他了。They were cheerful at the beginning，開始的時(shí)候，他們情緒很高。
