　　A catch/find：

　　I caught them stealing my apples.

　　我撞見他們正在偷我的蘋果。(我發(fā)現(xiàn)他們正在干這件事。)

　　If she catches you reading her diary，shell be furious.

　　如果她撞見你正在偷看她的日記，她一定會(huì)發(fā)火的。

　　這一動(dòng)詞后由現(xiàn)在分詞表示的動(dòng)作總是使主語感到不愉快。如果與find連用就沒有不愉快的感覺：

　　I found him standing at the door.

　　我發(fā)現(xiàn)他正站在門口。相當(dāng)于：

　　I saw him standing/He was standing at the door when I arrived.

　　我看見他正站在門口/我到的時(shí)候他正站在門口。

　　與find連用時(shí)，賓語可以是無生命的東西：

　　He found a tree lying across the road.

　　他發(fā)現(xiàn)一棵樹橫倒在馬路上。

　　B leave可與現(xiàn)在分詞連用：

　　I left him talking to Bob.相當(dāng)于：

　　He was talking to Bob when I left.

　　我走時(shí)他正在和鮑勃說話呢。
